Got out on mine yesterday for about an hour and a half, managed to de chicken strip the O/S of the 65mile old rear tyre.
Roundabout I presume, need to try a bit harder on the N/S. Have about 10mm untouched rubber on that side. But I know
just the bend to fix that. Next time.... ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

I managed to snap my number plate off while backing it out of the back yard into the alley. Nothing too bad, just one of the little plastic blots that hold it on snapped, so need to sort that out.
Still need to get used to how sensitive that throttle is too. ____________________ There ain't no devil, there's just god when he's drunk.

You need lots of extra clutchwork with these in low gears or they can be snatchy. Plenty torque, low weight and FI contribute to
that. Mine had a dead spot on the twistgrip before the throttle opened. Some cable adjustment there removed that,
making the throttle far more responsive and instant. It really helped with the snatchiness. BTW It feels 10x worse
when the chain needs some adjustment.
Stompgrip or similar really helps with these too, I found the tank to slippy to grip. I usually wear leathers so Stompgrip
suits me but Eazi Grip is similar, MUCH cheaper and won't feel scratchy in kevlar jeans like stompgrip does as I've found.
I'll be using that next time, the 2 pre cut bits of stompgrip on mine cost me 42 quid.

When looking for trick bits don't forget to search Ninja 650 as well. There's a few different bits and pieces for
these available over the pond. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Dave, you have to go with a US30. Don't waste your money on hard luggage that spoils the look of your bike and leaves ugly framework when it's removed. US30 is 100% waterproof and nothing comes close to the quality of it.
Eurojollys require ownership of a US30 and the bike to be shod in Michelin PR3s or the cool kids choice of 2CTs ____________________ stinkwheel: He had an animated .gif of a cat performing fellatio. It's not socially acceptable. It can have real life adverse effects on other people. |

I had a look at the US30 after Monty suggested it. Looks a good option tbh and a hell of a lot cheaper than other options I've looked at so far.
All the reviews give it top marks too. So yeah, I'll probably join the US30 club as well.
As for tyres, the stock ones on the bike seem okay tbh, not that I've really tested them out yet though. Haven't looked at what they are though but, I agree that there are no doubt better ones out there but, I feel no need to change them until they're worn. Unlike the terrible Michelin ones that came on the R125, which I immediately got rid of. ____________________ There ain't no devil, there's just god when he's drunk.

If it's the same as mine then the stock tyres will be Roadsmart 2's.
Apparently a dual compound tyre.

I suppose they may be using the Roadsmart 3's on a bike a couple years later than mine. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha
