Honestly I don't think he chooses to. Otherwise there'd be some example somewhere of him being somewhat more articulate than he is now.

I think he's just a rich dumb kid who everyone supports because he says ultra-simple 'get shit done' statements regardless of whether he means it or not.

Do you conflate articulation with ostentatious erudition?

Trump is an extremely effective communicator.

Sorry, I'll try again: Trump man talk good.

Probably. My points still stands, though.

Alternatively, he's developed a very effective way of speaking persuasively and is always on-message.

Is the problem that he always gives simple, un-nuanced answers and it seems like he doesn't think things through?

Well, every decision eventually boils down to a simple binary choice. In or out, raise or lower, fight or flight. Even when you get down to details, the final decision is between one number and another.

I guess it comes down to whether you prefer the decision maker to show that he's jumping straight to an answer. I find that more intellectually honest than pretending to consider both options in order to mollify voters who would have preferred the other one. What ultimately matters is the decision, rather than the process.

And yet, I'll wager, you find Tef's posts as tiring to read as many others on here. One great point is usually drowned under 1000 words of waffle.
People here are totally fed up with politicians, no less so than in the UK, who may have a very salient point to make but lose their audience with so much crap covering their own butts that they just don't want to vote for establishment politicians.
Consider that the only politician in the field who is appealing to people's emotions is running on an openly socialist mandate, ordinarily a political standpoint that is about as popular here as showing off your new bomb vest in a cinema.

Probably because he's one of the few people in politics who gets to the point and talks sense. You won't find many examples of him contradicting himself with his own opinions, either.

What? Like we'll build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it!

Even contract law says past consideration.

Not really. Just that many of his miracle ideas aren't so miraculous.

Some don't even make sense.

Like the 1-10-15 income tax policy. Yet no cuts to services.

It's one or the other you can't have both. Unless more debt...

The possibility of having two fcukin', retarded, buffoons in charge, on either side of the atlantic, Trump and BoJo, does not fill me with any confidence in the future, whatsoever!

The only thing I can't work out is which one of these, fuckwit, bellends is Laurel and which one's Hardy! Rolling Eyes

The irony being of course that he's probably more truly liberal than Clinton II.

A job-creating, free marketeer who's spend his life building things. The horror, the horror.

Isn't Hillary looking tired.

It always seems to me that Trump gives an answer, whether it's the one you like or not, it may not even make a load of sense but it's an answer all the same, not like our load of useless politicians, ask a question, get ten minutes of talking / dancing around the subject but never an answer. Watch the Michael Howard Paxman interview.

I do like that mug.

Compared to Clinton, Trump looks half sensible. The other half still looks batshit crazy, but I can't see Clinton without feeling a strong sense of revulsion at some unspecified sleaze corruption vibe that I can't explain.
And she is looking tired.

Being President is the best place for him. He will never get agreement (like Obahma didn't) from the house of representatives for any of his crackpot ideas.
He may say he is a man of the people but he will need to compromise heavily to get things done just like all the others.
The range of buffoons doing the job in recent years proves the president has very little influence ion policy or important decisions, hes just a mouthpiece.
Could be pretty funny really.

Exactly! It's just theatre, so you might as well have a world class clown prancing around on stage. The really funny bit are the sour- and rage- faced dupes who honestly seem to believe that it's real. Even professional rasslin' fans are in on the joke.
