It's a Classic British Bike, they leak oil by default. . . .
Saying that my dad's A10 doesn't leak a drop, he's having to get a scottoiler for it!
My dad has a fair few classic bikes, this is going to be my 'reserve bike' and for the classic runs we'll do together. I am also going to be insured on his BSA Roundtank to do the banbury run.
The hardest part is getting used to the reversed gearbox, it's on the right hand side and upside down! But the low down thud the engine makes is lovely . |

Nice , i'll get a pic of my dad's A10 sometime as it is the one he rides the most.
Japs are fine, if you get one with a little soul, but you get a nice classic maybe a GoldStar or something like my dad's commando, then you get something that can be just as fun but with a soul too. |

I'd LOVE to have one. I'd do anything to be able to roar round on one of them on a summer summers day |

Lovely Norton. I love BSA's too, must get myself one when I have a couple of big ones lying around. I have had a thing for classic bikes for quite some time. Your one lucky guy my friend .
By the way, I love your dad's bikes redbaron, particularly the C12, that's something else .

C12,s are very nice bikes to ride, they just plod along having such a large stroke. they were the CG,s of there day most bike tranning schools used c12,s back in the late 50,s which is where this one came from.
4-stroke 250cc 12hp single cylinder
Top speed 60mph
The spitfire (export version with high bars and lots of chrome) is currently being re-built with a SRM crank bearing conversion and having its correct fuel tank fitted, aluminium wheels along with being sprayed back to its original red/white colour, which it looked like before it was shipped to the USA back in the 60,s.
4-stroke 650cc 60bhp twin cylinder

SRM are brilliant my dad has had alot of work done to his second A10:
Roller bottom end conversion with oil way etc
Unleaded valve seats
New guides + exhaust valves
Fin repair on the head
Finally had the barrel and head stove enameled.
Cost just under 1k .
The Norton is worth about 2k but my dad managed to pick it up for 1k.
The speedo is way out so i have just fitted a £5 cycle computer . |
