My Nexus 9 has died* - it was a great device and I would like to get it repaired - I found www.phonesandcomputers.com and had a good response from them - but just before going ahead I checked out independent reviews and decided against them (because they were consistently terrible!):

Does anyone know of any other firms out there who can repair a tablet?

*(not water damaged, nor dropped - when booting it looked like a corrupted display driver (artefacts appeared on screen and it locked up) - I managed to factory restore, but it then died a day later - no response to power cable or any button combinations - I suspect main board)

Looking at the cost of a new main/motherboard in for a nexus 9 on ebay, then add on a bit of labour charges, it would be almost the same as buying a new one.

Yeah you're right - I've just set up a favourite search on eBay for a 'spares or repair' Nexus 9 - if I can find a functional one with a busted screen/digitiser, I can have a go at building a good one.

Nah - my home insurance has adopted a car-style NCB - if I claim on home insurance, it'll be for something worth claiming for (e.g. - I'm waiting for my 2yo son to throw one of his toys through my TV's screen - we've had near-misses already)
