Also, just received and fired up my new Virgin sim.
Currently enjoying 3 bars of 4G speed indoors, virtually unheard of on giffgaff.

Tons of fresh snow and I managed to do 60 km (4 hours) of driving in it, before they started salting the tar. The car might be useless when it comes to taking off upto a slope, but it sure is fun to go sideways everywhere. Thumbs Up

Warning: Very addictive stuff!

Was asked to look after this mutt for a few days, was going to give him back to day, but am probably keeping him. My friend rescues dogs, and was let down by someone.

He is about 6 months old, seems to be part Griffon / Fox Terrier cross and goodness knows what else, and possibly part carpet. Mother was a heavily pregnant stray, and this first one of the litter was born on their doorstep.

Here in Cyprus used cars are quite expensive compared to the UK.

Back in May, we took a risk and paid €1000 for a 1996 RAV4 with over 200,000km on it. The thinking at the time was that it would tide us over till we found something better. It's far from pretty, but had 8 months MOT, so we thought if it lasted that long we'd get our monies worth.

Took it for MOT this week (early because we will be in UK when it runs out) to see if it would pass or if it's time for the scrap yard.

Our gears were well oiled (snigger) when the garage guy quoted €390 (top suspension arm bushes, brake hoses and new ball joints) it will pass the MOT which lasts 2 years here.

Even better, by coincidence the garage had worked on the car previously and the guy had put a new (used) engine in it last year with new timing belt, water pump and various other bits. The seller did tell us the engine had been changed but was vague about it.

So, for €1400 we've ended up with a better car than we thought, which will easily last another 2 years.

It's still fugly though......

Earlier this week my cousin posted on Facebook that she had two tickets to see RHCP at the O2 tomorrow night but she can't go because her husband is working.

Guess who is going instead? This makes me happy after an immensely shit few weeks at work.

Also I applied for a pay rise (first time I have applied for one in about six years, I'm gradually getting my confidence back after leaving my last job) and had a letter on Monday saying that they were going to give it to me and back date it to September. Its all coming through in my December pay slip just in time for a few weeks holiday over Christmas and the New Year.

Its definitely going to help a lot with my mortgage application Very Happy

Got talking on the phone to someone from the Fazer Owners forum today whose interests and life have been an almost exact same experience as my own (without some of the stupid bits). Had a great chat, can't believe the coincidences that cropped up in conversation. Among other things, turns out I probably saw him playing in a Jam covers band in Harlow back in the 90s, and yet I've never met him, and we've never (as far as I'm aware yet) lived anywhere near each other. And there's me talking about having a crack at creative writing - he's recently started a creative writing course at uni (he wrote occasional articles for bike magazines some years ago). Small world Smile

Bit of a bodysocketdoctor007 one but having a YZF boi overtake me thinking he is fast while I was letting my bike warm up and sticking to the speed limit.

We then got to some traffic lights were I pulled off slowly letting my bike warm up some more and letting him think he was fast.

We then got to another set of traffic lights were I left him far behind. Oiled my gears as it was the first time I've ridden with a YZF boi and got to show them they are shit.
