I'll wager its spend a long time outside and not in a shed as adverts suggests..

TBF, it doesn't claim that the bike had been found inside the shed...

From the cobwebs it definitely looks like it's been rotting in a shed.

Some old '60s or '70s bike you could knock of the rust with a wire brush and call it patina but race bikes can't really carry off the tired look.

Some sheds are almost worse than being outside if it has been festering out of sight out of mind since 2011 I could imagine it getting like that.

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.

If that's an FZR600, it probably went like that the day after the warranty expired.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

My Dad's garage could rust and rot anything within days of going in there.

It's in the top though. Handy really because I doubt the filler cap will open.

Yeah if it was inside then probably in a container or steel shed - condensation city.

Context - I've been keeping an eye out for an FZR pre-exup. with blown engine (or rolling chassis) as I have two spare 750 motors. Not this one though .. Sad
