Hi all, looking for some advice on cost-effective 2-wheeled solutions for commuting. Currently own a CBR 600 F4i and been riding CBR 600's for 10+ years. Just checking to see if anything better suited to my needs.

F4i has been performing a bit sub-optimally since replacing exhaust system a few years back due to corrosion, acceleration from a standing start is not very smooth (nothing then suddenly launches off into space). Dyno/tuning probably costs £500+ (unless I am mistaken?) and not even sure if that will fix the issue? Also takes like 5 mins for automatic choke to do it's thing which can be annoying when you just wanna twist & go. + theft target = need to store off the road.

What other cheap options are out there atm that fulfill the following:
- primarily used for short commute i.e. traffic/filtering
- may be used occasionally on motorways (needs to be able to hit 70)

Open to any/all options!

Might keep the CBR for weekend rides and get something a bit smaller for commuting..? Or do I just man up and pay to get the CBR tuned..?

Herald/Mash/Mutt 250..

£4k new Laughing but yours for box of string and twigs, once a year or two old. Will do 70-ish. Will need to be soaked in ACF50 before (wet) use.

£500 would get you more than just a simple setup on a dyno to remap for your aftermarket exhaust.
