Hi I have a Honda cb125f 2017. When cold there is no noise but as soon as it warms up I hear a clicking, clanking sound.

I changed the clutch thinking it might be the clutch basket and a worn clutch/ basket but it's not that ( rides better with the new clutch ) . There is oil in the bike never in my ownership ran empty!

I am the 3rd owner.

Sounds like it is coming from the cylinder head area. Definitely not clutch area as when I put my ear there you can Definitely tell its coming from elsewhere.

If someone could please help me figure it out I would appreciate it Thank you.

I can upload a video to youtube of the noise if needs be.

you can try using a long hamdled screwdriver as a stethoscope to opin-point the source.

Is is overhead cam?

If an exhaust gasket is leaking it sounds like a mechanic ticking noise, even though the noise is exhaust gas escaping through a tiny gap.

I see you haven't bothered to mention the mileage, do you think
it's not relevant on a 3 owner, 7 year old 125 with unknown service history?
it may have been well used, neglected and abused by now

Could be the exhaust header if you're lucky
if not it may be the cam chain or cam bearing

Hi thank you for the response. I bought the bike in December at 8500 miles. It is currently at 10002miles. I will upload a video to youtube and post the link to see what you think. You help is appreciated. The bike does work and runs fine but the noise is worrying.

Thank you

The exhaust doesn't seem to be leaking. Also I have had my 1/2 long extension on the engine listening for noise and there is nothing from the clutch bottom side. Or the left bottom stator side.

I have had the extension on the rocker cover. It doesn't seem to be there either. But on the left had side middle of the engine where the cylinder barrel is it seems to be there.

It doesn't have a problem starting. The performance is pretty good.

Here is a link to the noise.

Thank you fo your help.
