Was on the way out to the footie when I posted and hadn't had time to look into it thoroughly before I went, although I did swap the bulb for a brand new one quickly before I left and still no joy, was hoping for a silver bullet when I got back, alas, good advice where to start looking nonetheless.
Tail light working so I had also assumed ground was out of the equation also.
Turns out both switches had corroded and weren't making a connection, and the rear switch needed adjusting as it wasn't pulling hard enough on the switch spring anyway. Bit of WD40 and some buggering around got the rear one working but still no joy from the front so I've stripped it and roughed up the contact areas, going to leave it to soak overnight and hope for the best. Failing that, new switch.
I appreciate the help. As both weren't working I'd assumed switches were probably fine as chances of BOTH being broken/corroded at the same time slim? |
