I'm really quite amazed that they only get a claimed 500hp from an 8 litre V10. I know they're leagues higher, but NA 3 litre V10 F1 engines get 900+ bhp.

300 mph from that thing is a laughable claim! Laughing

For 2 hours before it blows up. All the power is from 15000-18000 RPM and they have very little torque.

Nascars are really amazing. 750 horsepower at 9000 RPM for up to 4 hours of constant ragging. Thats restricted too. Smile

They made 9 of the Dodge bike and sold it to wealthy customers. There are actually working productions around somewhere. BTW, the 300 mile an hour claim was only really if the person could hold on for that long. The 420 mile an hour claim was on a rolling road. The 8.3 litre motor gets more torque than horsepower, that is what it is tuned for, it is a truck motor carved from a block of aluminium. Note that there is no frame, everything is bolted on the block. The 500hp 'claim' is far underrating what the Viper puts out as it is SAE net power, and as such could be 100 HP more by european standards.
