a question about this pic

https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/crashbung.jpg

did the bracket bend under the strain?
seems a weak place for a crash bung to go, was it an R&G?

Looking at the video again (and listening to the engine/tyres) I think it may be a case of not running wide enough. Looked like I was going to straighten up 2/3 way across the track instead of over by the rumble strip. If I'd done that the bike angle would have been shallower.

At least I'm here to learn from it Thumbs Up

The bracket has bent behind the bung. Unfortunately it's not an R&G one; it was on the bike when I got it, and although I considered replacing it, who replaces things that aren't broken? (I know, people with more foresight than me!)

Getting more mobile, although I pulled some more muscles in my upper back today by trying to keep my lower back immobile! Rolling Eyes Still hobbling a bit, but I'm hoping to be walking (and riding!) properly for the trip to Donington for the GP on Sunday.

Shopping spree? My memory's not that bad! Wink I won £250 worth of Thomas Cook vouchers today, so that'll keep her busy for a bit...

I'd be a bit worried about that bung tbh. That's an engine mount point and it's bent it significantly. So what's it done to the engine where the bolt goes into it? And has the bracket smashed into the head where it's twisted.

Or is that bracket an adaptor so the bungs don't replace the engine mounting bolt?

Just removed that bung and had a look. It was actually mounted on a bracket that jutted forwards from the ideal mount. I guess this stops you needing the drill the fairing. I thought all GSXRs had the mount out in the open (and in fact, it is on the other side of the bike) but obviously not. I'll be ordering some R&G bungs and drilling the hole - I want the protection of it being mounted securely!

Just wierd seeing it, but I'm glad I have the pictures/video otherwise I'd be none the wiser! Also struggling to work out rockingham3.jpg since I actually ended up on my side, further away from the bike and facing it. I must have tried to sit up carried on rolling and the bike span away... Confused
