As you've probably already noticed a number of new forums have sprung up overnight, and some old ones have vanished. This was done in an attempt to make BCF easier to read and better manage the forum's ever-growing amount of traffic. The major changes are as follows:

Arrow New Biking News / Show & Tell forums
These two forums have been created to house threads which previously would have gotten lost in high posting turnover of General Bike Chat.

Arrow Offtopic Chat has been split up
To try and improve the signal/noise ratio in Offtopic I have split it into several smaller forums covering the main areas of discussion.

Arrow View all topics in this section
Alongside the changes mentioned above, new links have been added to allow you to view all posts in a section on one page, should you want to read absolutely everything.

Arrow Photos & Videos forums removed
These two forums have been merged into General Bike Chat, with the exception of people's original video creations and project photo pages, which have gone to Show & Tell.

Arrow Offtopic Chat is now being pruned
To improve forum performance old threads from the Offtopic section will now be periodically removed. This will only happen to threads which have been abandoned; older long-running threads are not in danger of being pruned as long as they remain active.

Just a wee point. If I click on the "view all posts in this section" in the offtopic part, it also includes the F&FW posts. With no way to tell they are such.

Also if you post a reply and click the 'return to forum' button, it takes you back to the individual section rather than the "all posts" layout which makes navigating a bit of a pain.

When you hover over a post it shows which section it is from.

Any chance of some sort of archive for removed threads - not sure how this would work but I think VD has some such thing.

Presumably even just a having them moved to a seperate forum area would speed things up.
While I appreciate it's 'off topic', there's sometimes some useuful stuff in there.

Shame about the videos forum being removed, that was the most common forum I checked Confused

I know this is just personal oppinion, and perhaps your changes are related to forum performance etc, but to me it seems silly to split the forum up into so many subforums... Who will really bother to post an OT thread in "Current Affairs" rather than "General Banter"?

And surely discussing the latest biking news should just fall into general chat, rather than its own forum? There arent enough threads discussing current biking news stories to warrant a full forum for it.

Just makes it harder to navigate and find threads IMHO.

I can live with it (it's actually starting to make sense to me now) but I'd like a photo & vid section again (in the bike section).

Possibly not a good idea. Have a chat with Kickstart about the thread he recently removed.

Sorry, I'm not talking about spam/abuse etc, I'm talking about offtopic chat being 'pruned'.

If a specific thread is removed, then it's done for a reason, so would be counter productive to keep it, I appreciate.

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 18 years, 73 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
