I finally got around to pulling the R6 apart today, to examine the damage from its little incident at Brands. It's major carnage in there... Sad

Hmm, I think we've found the problem:

Broken valve (top right) and the two others it took with it:

Valve stem punched a hole in the piston, lots of shrapnel and damaged barrel:

Hi

Ouch. Suspect that the head could be repaired but will be cheaper to source a 2nd hand one.

Cannot see clearly enough in the picture if there is any damage to the bore, but with luck you can get away with just a piston there (and cleaning out the engine thoroughly).

The same thing happened to my TT600, only worse.

Engines are cheap for R6's on ebay and the like. They aren't cheap for TT600s! Smile

that may of been due to the fact of the valve clearances bein checked for a while could of been way out.
the constant slammin of the valve against the port which would of made it snap causing that mess.
