I have been offered a Siamoto Favourite 125 for £300. anyone know anything about these bikes? it has 3000miles on the clock and looks from pics a pretty good condition bike, it has service history and is taxed and fully roadworthy. any help I would be grateful for.

Cheers,

Soul. Thumbs Up

It's a 4t 125 Scooter, from this place (https://www.speednspares.co.uk/acatalog/Siamoto_Scooters.html) costs about £1200 new.

Very few UK sites on siamoto, looks like they have gone down the pan to me.
https://www.selftrading.co.uk/siamoto.htm

Few reviews on the preloved site (as there is no info anywhere else) eveyone marks it down for it being tricky to get spares for. Which is a good reason to steer clear of it.

I can't seem to find out whos engine the company use, as many 125 scooters use a piaggio 125 leader engine that is very easy to get parts for. From the pics I don't think this one does.

£300 squid is cheap, but then you will struggle to keep it on the road if you can' find any parts for it. Plus I reckon its pretty ugly!

They seem to be the sort of bikes that Argos would sell...

Argos DO sell them, as far as I am aware.

For £300 it sounds ok, if want to be really cheeky try & knock £50 more off it.

To be honest I'd probably buy it for that price, just to use it to nip to the shops & save my proper bikes from the risk of being knocked over/nicked etc.

Why do you want it?

I want it because I currently have a 50cc Blaster, and it is starting to annoy me with the 30mph top end. I was considering de restricting it, only involves buying a CDI and removing an off pipe from my zaust. but was advised against this by other forums members. which i must say sounded like a better idea. to wait and get a cg125. but this 125 scooter would be a slight improvement while i wait.

Surely you'll not be waiting as long if you don't buy the crappy scooter though?

Get your bike properly de-restricted and it will be about the same as a cheapo air cooled 4t 125 scooter. I reckon that scooter would probably do about 60 ish on the clock, where as your blaster would probably do 50 ish and they are pretty quick off the line as they are very light. Why did people say you shouldn't de-restrict it? Its not going to damage it or anything daft like that! Plus Pugs are easy to get parts for. Save your cash up for a decent bike/scooter and get your Pug sorted in the mean time.
