Found on another forum.

Look at the attached plan, and here:
https://www.pchweb.co.uk/vmcc-racing/mallory%20changes.pdf

Personally I think it would be a good think as I found Mallory boring, potentially dangerous and vowed I'd never return. Gerrard's corner is overrated anyway (although it was resurfaced, preferably by someone who understood that race tracks were supposed to be flat, it might be okay).

Now if they sort out Shaw's and the Chicane it might be a reasonable track!

That's on the exit to Gerrards? Looks like it could provide another highside opportunity, like Edwinas. Still, should be an improvement (in my opinion).

I went there today with Jammy G just for the fun of it and could see no other sign of construction works on that part of the track so i can only assume that it's complete. Seems like a nice track too mind.

I don't think they will allow bikes to not use it once the insurance company includes it in the official bike layout. As of when they include it though is another matter, not neccessarily when completed, it might need testing or reviewing. So, you might ride it, you might not. Who knows?!

As you can see in the last shot, the cars get to use the old Gerrards corner, the following shots show that bikes have to use the new chicane and also give an idea of size. It seems bigger than I first thought it was and also slightly faster.

I was there last weekend for the EMRA racing (although the new section wasn't being used). It looks incredibly tight into that first turn, especially when you bear in mind that you'll be coming round the fastest bend in the country. I'd put money of there being more than a couple of accidents there (particulary people outbraking themselves).

I'm led to believe that the new corner may be for the benefit of BSB only, and that trackdays and club racers will continue to use the old track. time will tell though . . .

Yes, your right, it seems it has not been inspected or accepted by the ACU for road racing, also, the design was not issued for comment or approaval to the ACU (Autocycle Union - British Racing's Governing Body).

So, club racing will not be using it! However, British Superbikes do not run under ACU Reg's. This chicane was put in to slow bikes down round the back half of Gerrards and also on the approach to Edwina's, due to the crashes by Kyanari, Lavilla and other riders in 2005. There were a few nasty incidents in the other classes as well. It was a long day!

Track days however might get a choice of which circuit to use, but it will probably cost more to use the chicane, as it will need additional sector marshalls.

I guess most track days won't use it, but there will be a few that do, maybe mid-week to cut costs. This will cater for those who wish to ride the full BSB track.

I'm just glad they increased the run off at the hairpin. Nasty there when you get it wrong.
