Like most track days you get slots of say 3 lots of 20mins, is there anywhere that you can spend as long as you want on track?

You wouldn't want to, believe you me 20 minutes is long enough to get tired, and even with one 20 minute session an hour, by the end of the day you're absolutely shattered.
If you tried to stay out there, by the time you passed an hour or so you'd be so tired you'd make a stupid mistake and bin it.

A normal track day you would get 6 or 7 20 minutes slots.

Even upping those to a few 30 minute slots starts to get very knackering.

There are a few 'open pit lane' days, but these tend to be for racers playing with setup so not somewhere you want to be if you're not up to speed.

Which is another good thing against them for normal trackdays - if you're not seperating the groups you may get some very fast people with some very slow wobbly people. Not a good combination.

I've done a couple of days where there have only been 2 groups. 20mins on 20mins off. I was fcuked after a couple of sesions like this. You come in take kit off, drink eat some chocolate kit up and go back out again. 40min rest works out nicely!

20mins at a time is spot on for me.

You usually get around six sessions a day anyway.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I seem to recall the crappy free trackday dvd that was free with this months 'Superbike' had a session at a track in Spain where you could ride to your hearts content.

Being slow doesn't matter, go out in the novice group and see how you get on, I'm sure you'll love it!!!

I agree with all of the above, a normal track day is more than enough track time to completely knacker you out.

Yeah, I totally agree with most of the above, 20 minutes of hanging off and pushing hard and your battered!

20 minutes breaks between sessions are hard work, might as well leave your leathers on and just sit down and take on water! Your out so quick you haven't recovered. I often end up just sitting sessions out on days where it's 20 min out, 20 min in and then back out again, just too much hard work! lol

Trust me, you don't want a whole day out on the track. Open pit lanes are great, but you are constantly riding against people who wouldn't think twice about stuffing you up the inside when you are already at the apex and holding a tight line against the kerbs. That really makes you tire quickly! lol
