My fridge freezer is poorly. It's about 5 years old and the fridge compartment seems to be freezing up, turning the temperature to min or max does not seem to make any difference.

It is also making a kind of glug glug noise and the motor seems to run non stop.

Worth fixing or time to get a new one?

At the back of the fridge near the bottom shelf, there should be a little drain type of hole..... is that blocked?? They can get cblocked very easily, give it a good poke with a big needle or something.

Mine was the same last year, turns out it was short of gas. Luckily my brother in law is a fridge engineer and he topped up the gas for free.

Possibly the thermostat has gone? The can fridge at work did the same sort of thing. It froze up all the cans, but then when they defrosted a bit they all exploded! Wiping frozen coke off the ones that hadn't exploded was a bitch. Rolling Eyes

cheers all.

I removed the thermostat tested it and that has failed. Someone at work said they had a similar "glug glug" noise and that was because it was short of gas. I can change the Thermostat for £40 but a gas refill will cost me £25 call out charge + £50/hour labour + vat.

It's not worth it, going to get a new one.
