Well, Today I took the Thermostat out. So theres no reason for it to run too hot now.
Reason I cant see if its over heating is because im missing the temp sender. It broke. So Just after a new one now.

The ONLY thing missing from the bike now is a legit exhaust system. Its making me wonder if its worth splashing out the £100 or so to replace it.

I bodged a Stock VFR end can onto it today. BACKWARDS!!!! Laughing
Like with the cut end facing off the back of the bike, And the "Tip" Pushed onto my headers. LOL. Then held im place with wire.

And it actually ran.
Ran sweet as.

I got to work, Started trying to weld some form of link pipe to it so I can use the Viffer can, but it wasnt working. Bore sizes were all off and everything.

So hopefully If I can pick up a cheap exhaust system It may stays in my ownership.

Fitted levers today, Took bike out for another run.
Still not running right once its warmed up. Even though ive changed the thermostat.

Someone is kindly donating me some header pipes, So all I need to do now is source a cheap slip on exhaust. And I can trial run her. If she runs then ive got a bike for summer. If she dont, then shes going! Laughing

Such a shame for such a beautiful bike.

Hope you can get bits worked out for it, no one will appreciate it as much as you can. Thumbs Up

Got an uncut set of stock headers on the bike now. Had to do a bit of welding on the collars but nothing major. The headers look decent now. Just need a paint.

Ive pulled the fairings back off for the time being too, Ive got a new set of clutch plates on order. Ive also got heavy duty springs and a new thrust bearing going back in when it goes back together.

New gaskets for the engine covers too, hopefully I can stop the oil leak. Laughing

Just waiting on a SS Scorp bolt on end can and a new pillion seat too.

Tail fairings are off, Gonna sand them down on Sunday and primer them up ready to be sprayed.
Ive also got to do something about the chips/scratches on the belly panel. Sad

Longer clip ons are a future mod I want to do. And maybe a set of after market pillion pegs. Although they do look shoddy when out, The fold away ones that come stock are kinda cool. Especially as I plan to get a single seat cowl eventually. So it can be made into a single seater in a matter of seconds.

Who does your spraying Ben?
I have a new tank that I got pretty cheap but it's black and I need it obviously in white.
If I gave them the tank and a side panel fairing could they match the colour?

The grips were just a quick fix to get the bike road worthy as I couldn't get any Renthals in my local bike shops.

Im after some longer clip on s anyway so I can move the grips further away from the yoke. Gives me better leverage on the levers. Thumbs Up

They are infact "Scott" grips and well soft compound, which I like. They are just minging on the photos.

Gaz, Nobody does my spraying as such. I had the tank sprayed by one of Jim's Audi Mates for 50 notes. And the fairings came ready sprayed from the bloke who made them...

I'm yet to find someone to spray my tail fairings up for me. Considering doing them myself. Meh.

Another Twin Port end can. Mr. Green

Alway hated them, Until I got one for the first NC29. Then I loved them. Had one on the NC30 too.
And now got another from Carbon Can Co.
I cant believe how little it weighs though!

The baffles are only in because im trying to pin point a running problem.

I was running baffle`less until today. But Its running lean I think (cutting out at 10k rpm) so I thought id try and richen it up by sticking them in.

Sounds nice without them mind. Smile

Afraid not matey. I was running canless for a while.

Must admit, I picked that Carbon Can Co End-Can up including a Stainless Link pipe (Which I plan to eventually cut my system off further down and fit the Stainless Link), Both Clips, The removable Baffles, Exhaust strap and hanger for £10 at a boot fair before work on a Sunday morning. Embarassed

And its in mint condition.

New Plugs
New Leads
New air filter
New Oil and filter (not that its relevant)
De restricted Fully at the CDI end of the loom
New (or good as) Exhaust and Can

Things I havnt done and really should at least check, or try a known working part are

CDI
Coils
Pick up Coil

Id Like a new loom anyway because mine is a bit tatty.

Im a bit confused because before it was an intimittant fault, Now it cuts out BANG ON 10.5k RPM every time.

Did you check your carbs? i had a similar problem not long back. See if they're sitting propperly and check your jets maybe? Possibly one of those?

Not looked at the carbs to be honest. I left them fitted when I changed the engine into the new frame.

Possible you could of knocked em? lifting one off slightly? You've changed the spark side of it, so possible it could be your carbs? If its not your carbs then i wouldnt know what to do myself.

I think it could be electrical.

Possible the coils are breaking down when they get hot. I dunno.

Im also pissed because I keep getting oil leak from the Clutch cover. I think its coming from the rubber grommet where the Wire for the generator goes through!

OK so is it ok when you first start it and rev it all the way to redline in first? then after about 5 mins, will it not do it?
