I've got the same kind of problem on my sachs and its booked in for a service in a fortnight! so do you think a 12 mile ride to the garage would be ok?

Thanks in advance

12 Miles , take it easy and it should be fine , would be risky if you thrashed it all the way there though.
Thumbs Up

Don't forget Jamie offers a Warranty on all of his advice.

If my bike started ticking (apart from shitting myself because it's cam gear) I would not ride it again until it was fixed. But I can't afford to throw money away.

APE manual camchain tensioner is far superior to the automatic ones. Adjustment is quite easy also.

Automatic tensioners are pretty crap-honda and kawasaki seem unable to make them work properly.

In answer to the Karma you gave me Jamie its not confusing you are just wrong.

The cam chain is more expensive than you thought.

You will need a crank cover gasket.

You will need a CCT gasket.

You may need a rocker cover seal.

If you are going to down rate my posts that contradict you at least have the good manners to ask why rather than showing yourself up as someone who doesn't really know what they are talking about.

Incidentally Dave Silvers is the biggest discount Honda parts retailer in the UK.

I said its £25 for a CAMCHAIN, not how much it is for the gaskets, so ,I say again a CAMCHAIN and ONLY a cam chain is £25.

Yes and you are still wrong a cam chain is £42+vat + P+P. Next time READ THE POST.

No its £42+vat + P+P according to Dave Silvers. Also factor in the cost of a couple of gaskets, probably £15-£25+vat and the price starts to look a lot higher.

Now be quiet.

Which part do you not understand? The cam chain is £42+vat + P+P NOT £25

There you go Jamie, was just putting up a new picture that fitted better on the page. Now I do of course want an apology but I don't expect one.

I think that although you know a fair amount about bikes its about time you realised you don't know anywhere near everything. Only comment on the things you know and this isn't one of them. Perhaps you would now be so kind as to show everyone where you can buy a cam chain for a CBR600F for £25 as I would really love to know.
