Yeah you can lacquer over vinyl no worries, might be worth giving it a wipe with some grey scotch brite first though just to key it a little. Thumbs Up

Nice work on that hugger - I like the novel use of the tyre as a mould. One trick I saw when making DIY fibreglass parts is to lay the glass up then bag it in heavy polythylene and put a vacuum pump on it to evacuate the air. Makes a nice finish and a thinner, stronger part.

Small update!

Panels now painted & decals fitted & lacquered in. Unfortunately the decals didn't take too kindly to being baked off in an oven so a couple of bubbles have appeared. They were only a tenner so if it comes to it I can always get some more made & redo the panels. Thumbs Up

I saw this project when you first got it and forgot about it and just read it all at once. Very good read and amazing skills to make the huuger. I've seen my Dad try to make a mold of something in fiberglass and then reproduce it so I kind of know how hard it can be. Looks brilliant though. Can't wait to see this finished.

It it were me that made the rear hugger I would be SO proud! That's amazing, well done!

The bike's coming along nicely, I love the colour, and the finish is spectacular.
