I'd been riding since 16 for about 2 years and probably around 10-15000 miles, then I didn't have a bike until I was 22.

Bought myself another little 125, that got nicked and so I thought I'd do my full test 4 years ago, and I've been riding ever since. Now spend my time swapping between my crappy little CB-1 and my bosses GSX-R1000 that he got me insured on and lets me use pretty much as and when I please.

Very Happy

about 4 years in the car, 2/3 months on a 100cc scooter, and about 7/8 months on my cbr125 which racked up about 5.5k miles. So just under a full year before taking my DAS test on a 500cc...

I bought a Garelli Katia 50 2-stroke monkey bike/Mini Scooter
spares/repair last January, fixed it up and put it through MOT. I rode that pre-CBT for about 3 months.

I did my CBT, went away for a while and then did DAS at the first opportunity, which was in July.

Not bad considering that the wife wasn't keen Wink

I've driven for 14 years and been into mountain biking (and commuting) for about 20, both of which helped.

I bought an early ER5 -now fettled to a good condition.

...although I should have bought a better bike initially as upgrading will take more persuasion...

Had a car Licence for 13 years before I passed. Done over 190k miles on the road up until that point.

Between my CBT and DAS was a 4 month gap and I did about 1500miles on my GS125. Passed my DAS first go.

I think my confidence grew in the 4 months between CBT and DAS but the DAS really "tided up" my riding for the test.

CBT was my first road experience of any sort, did it on a Saturday, was riding a CBR125 on the Monday. 3 months and 1500miles later I'd passed my DAS first time no minors. Thumbs Up Still don't drive a car.

About 2 months. from CBT to full test. didn't have any lessons, as instructor let me down on the day's leading upto the test and on the day of the test. not sure why, but he just forgot me. did my pre-test myself and passed first time with no issues picked up. all this on an uninsured borrowed DT125. Very Happy

all the best.

~10 years in total before I did my test.

Passed my BIKE test at 20. Had been riding on the road on L's from my 16th birthday, so ~4 years road, but prior to that had been messing about as often as I could round a mates dads field (on crap/old bikes)!! Thumbs Up
