Hi,

The first disc got very loose over the last few months. so i replaced it with a second hand one from a fella i know it was ok, bit of movement but not much just the usual for a floating disc.

Today i decided to check the replaced one as i heard a clicking sound when i take off. only now this one is almost as bad as the one i took off.

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this before i fork out money on new disks only to get them wrecked aswell.

The bike handles fine, doesn't pull to one side the bike does brake properly.

help

Go for a run and get the brakes warm then stop and see if the wheel spins freely... could be binding causing the problem...

How would that cause the disk to come loose??

It wouldn't accelarate wear THAT much and it'd probably warp the disk first??

If caliper has seized it might not be squeezing the disc straight, making the disc tip slightly on the floating bobbins, which makes them loosen off... then they rattle.

More common on bikes with sliding calipers than ones with opposed pistons...

Hi

Think Trade Direct / Stealth Products will sell replacement bobbins (normally intended for their disks that you put onto your existing carriers).

All the best

yea i noticed them guys before. thinkin about replacing the discs anyway.

it was a mixture with the caliper. the pistons were a bit sticky and the moving part of the caliper (part that bolts onto the fork was suck solid, free'd up pistons and the moving part of the caliper and its working grand)
