Right the BF got petrol in his eye, while checking the tank for petrol and it splashed in eye:roll:

Anyway loads of roars thought he was dying and head under tap, should he go to hospital or what? he wont go anyway but petrol cant be good in your eye!

His eyes is burning and swollen, is there lasting damage from petrol?

anyone know?

Shocked

I'd advise him to get it checked out. A little petrol shouldn't cause too much long term damage, but I'd err on the side of caution and pop to A&E, especially if its still playing him up. They might be able to wash his eye out properly, rather than just using water, which may help him a little more.

Thought his eye would melt or something. He is an idiot when it comes to eye protection comes home with welders flash and everything. I am looking him up a welders helmet on ebay and glueing it to his head. Rolling Eyes

You dont mess about with eyes being blind is terrible, i couldnt cope with loosing sight.

You rinse it out with water. But generally it won't cause permeanant damage, but if you don't rinse it straight away it will burn the cornea and they'll be useless for a couple of weeks.

I've got it in my eye(s) more than I care to remember, no lasting effects and if sorted right away, will be fine.
