My 2000 honda cr80 seized recently due to being ridden without water, not by me though. However i'v came to getting a new piston but iv realised that, sometimes the bottom end will turn freely as it should but sometimes will stick and proves hard to move. What could the problem be?
Cheers
Rik

O cock. When you turn the fly wheel the engine will turn 3/4 of a full revolution but the remainder is VERY hard to turn, does that help? Also if it is the big end how hard is it to do? I have average mechanical knowledge and would have a go at fixing it.
Cheers

you will have to split the crank case halves, a bit fiddly and easy to lose bits. You might be able to get a new bearing fitted but will probably be easier to buy a new crank. While your in there, you might as well replace the main bearings and check the gearbox over. Also, make shure you get all the bits of metal out from the bearings, otherwise it will screw up very quickly, and replace the gaskets and oil.

Ok. To split the engine is there anything i should be aware of that could go wrong or watch out for? Even though it is electronic ignition could it be put off if i remove the flywheel?
Cheers
