alright boys n girls. I had a dr200 which was fine for 5mins then i realised it was guttless and i was to large for it. i am looking to upgrade to a kdx200 or similar. However i have just been offered a 99 yz250 but its motocross not enduro. I have seen people use motox bikes for trails. If the more knowledgeable could point me in the right direction/discuss there bikes or suitable ones

would be most grateful

p.s anyone who has experience and maintenance knowledge of a 99 yz250 would also be grateful to what they have to say

its 99 yz250 converted with proper loom for lights etc. it came with flywheel weight/2 base gaskets/different gearing i,ve fitted rekluse clutch and hand brake .only breakdown was water ingress into ignition side due to plastic cover distorting, power valve linkage worn out blew oil seal. that's it, set of rings now and then. its great fun on trails very light /fast ,doesn't like road work .

here it is on salisbury plain

you can convert a Moto-X bike so it's road legal, however, if you are wanting to compete in Enduros or Rallies, many of them will not allow road-legal moto-X bikes entry.

you can ride moto x bikes on closed circuit enduro and converted ones on 2 day time card enduros but not rallies .all the top riders use converted moto x bikes because time card enduros are won on special tests where they like the aggressive nature of mx bikes.
