my commute is about 6 miles
1 mile of which is a fast dual carriage way, the rest is 20-30mph and 10mph filtering

Probably be acceptable - however, the Suzuki engined bikes make more sense really. Doesn't seem to many cheap 644s round however Sad.

for about £1500 it seems i can get a very low mileage ccm 604 with supermoto wheels

there are loads on ebay

and i havnt seen any other supermotos on ebay in such numbers

after riding a a 250 dirt bike with knobblies in the wet on a road a few times, i like the idea of supermoto wheels

I paid £2k for a low mileage (under 2000) 404e with both sets of wheels.
Being a DR engine it should be reliable and having a claimed dry weight of 119kg, it should be pretty useable off road
