You have checked there is in fact coolant in the system right? My bike lost mine due to a loose clip while I was riding and so I got a red temp line.
I can't see a price for the water pump but if you email the people at https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk they should be able to tell you.
But yeh I'd check first that there is coolant in the bike and you haven't got a leaking pipe somewhere.
Oh and don't ride it if it's doing this, you may sieze the engine. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

If you wanna inspect the water pump at all then you'll need to drain the coolant, also to change the head gasket you need to drain the coolant.
Have you got a copy of the manual? I recommend you take a look at it, do as alains recommends he knows the NSR inside out . I guess it wouldn't hurt to look at the pump while the coolant is out. ____________________ Past: 55 Sym Jet, 91 ZZR250, 03 NSR125R. Present: 97 ER-5.

fan? what fan?
i dont have one, bit of background, since the engine refit the bike has been running sweet as, its only a couple of weeks ago it suddenly overheated, by sudden i mean i had been riding about in the evening, put bike away, took it out next day. Halfway to friends house, red line and steam. now this was enough for me to call ahead and say im gonna be a while. let it fully cool down as i pushed the 2 min to his house, left to cool all day. rode back in the afternoon, 5 mins down the road the needle is tickling the red line. no steam, left to cool, spoke to father in law who suggested changing the stat. done and not much difference. thats where i am at the moment. ____________________ Honda NSR 125 R1 (51)
