Right, I landed out of a wheelie tonight and was greeted with a knocking noise coming from the engine.

So I pulled up and had a listen.

When you are at idle, and you blip the throttle or hold it at at set RPM you can hear it.

When you open it up, under acceleration / load, its very quiet, and sometimes cant hear it at all.

When you are at a steady pace, or come off the throttle while rolling, You can hear it.

I had to ride it home about 15 miles, It got worse the more I rode it. Got louder.

It sounds like its coming from the front of the engine. At first i thought it was possibly a cracked exhaust manifold, Thats what the CBR sounded like. But it has a serous amount of power loss. It revs right out to red line still, But it takes it time getting there under load of the bike.

Heres a little video to give you an idea.

Always let it warm right up. Sounds very Top end to me.

I know the V4s suffer from oil starvation when upright. Sad
Wheelies are soo addictive though. Should really stop though.

Not checked anything yet, Going to strip the bike down over winter anyway. just pissed off because was meant to be going London tomorrow to see some stunters.

Boo
