A bit of a noob question but, what spares, tools do you take with you when doing Hare and Hounds, greenlaning etc?
Only asking as my throttle cable snapped 10 mins after starting today. Needless to say, I didn't have a spare Rolling Eyes
Cheers Thumbs Up

HG do a universal 'DIY cable kit' which is worth looking at. Hardly takes up any space if you take it out of the stupid tin it comes in.

Will do most cables, might even last for an hour or two as a clutch cable, though it's definitely not designed to take those loads.

A good idea is to have spare cables taped to the ones you are using. If it breaks it is already in position to be connected and doesnt take up any room.

A very useful tool to take is a allen key thingy that looks like a Swiss Army knife. They're about a fiver from the bicycle section of Halfords, and it's helped me (and numerous others) fix stuff on the trail.

I also carry a couple of spare levers as a tallisman that I won't break on as a result. Cable ties are also handy to have, and WD-40.

HTH Smile

Zip ties.
Folding allen key tool.
Tyre levers & spare tube along with necessary spanners for taking the wheels off.
Spark plug & socket.
A piece of rope to tow with.

Or take Ste and Korn with you and don't bother to take anything because between them they've probably got it all Very Happy Razz.
