Dunno how often this has been done with a DRZ, but my 2001 e spec supermoto hit the dyno today.

Spooled it round to 40.7 (call it 41 please Laughing ) rwhp at 7100 rpm. Present gearing she pulls on the limiter at 104 mph, so a comprehensive downgearing is in order. Output reveals it may have had other work done that I don't know about, they usually run circa 38 at the rear wheel, and a CRD can with the baffles and flame arrester still in it ain't gonna account for 3bhp at the rear wheel.

Fuelling run revealed it's running lean on pickup which explains the hesitation when i crack the throttle open, fortunatly it runs clean at the correct ratio when on wide open throttle so hopefully it shouldn't burn the piston before I can afford to have some work done on it.

She's going in after christmas for some induction and exhaust work, gutting the CRD can, fitting a new big bore s/s header pipe, high flow air filter and airbox mod, rejetting etc. Including labour and dyno run time been quoted between £250-£270 for the work, which i didn't think was too bad. Tuner reckoned nearly 45hp at the rear should be attainable. I'd do most of that myself, but to be quite frank I don't have the time or a dyno to set it up properly.

Chuffed with the results, had pretty low expectations with it being a DRZ, but they've been exceeded.

I'd love to know whats been done to it too! Mine hasn't even had shed tuning, it's just how it came, lean as fuck. I'm waiting on the performance work before i get it tuned properly, however I may bin it before then as the power delivery is savage in the winter conditions at present.
