Can i use Redex or do i have to take the whole thing off, its a bit boggy cold and on low down, the battery also needs replacing.

Best to take the whole thing off. Hope it's easier than doing it on the CCM Neutral.

same engine, why was it hard, or was stuff in the way.

Out of the way; to get the airbox off you have to take the subframe off. And, of course, you need to take the airbox off to do anything with the carb Rolling Eyes.

There are some nice design touches on the CCM, but that definitely isn't one of them.

Got a feeling the subframe may be different on the 'E', for a start, it doesn't really have one. I've seen the carb removed without taking the subframe off.

Just loosen the two bolts at the top of the subframe, gently pull it back about an inch or so.

This should give you enough room to get it out.
