I got a hole in my radiator today, its on the side where the cap is, right at the bottom near where the bottom rad guard bolts in, its dripping onto the downpipe about a drip per second.
Anyone know where i can get a Rad from in the UK, and will RADWELD work untill i get a new radiator.

Radweld is not advisable for a bike - its designed for 30 year old Ford Cortinas - not modern bikes with small delicate water pumps / channels etc.

If the hole is in one of the main chamber bits - then simply take it off,, clean it up and make sure no grease about - then epoxy the sucker.

If it looks like its in a more 'delicate' part of the rad - then you can get it soldered.
I will try to find the place I have used before.

The only experience I have of Radweld was when I used it as a temporary fix on a Cavalier SRI radiator a few years ago.

A few weeks later it overheated and cost me a warped cylinder head. I am convinced that the Radweld blocked up the waterways.
I have never used it since.

Its much cheaper in the long run to get it fixed properly. Plenty of places will repair them.

ok no radweld
The hole is in the delicate bit, i.e the fins.

just my luck.

If you can provide the place that 'might' be able to solder it, that would be great silky.

If they quote some silly price (insert your own number here) - then let me know and I have a nice big tube of epoxy and some liquid metal somewhere.
Drain it - de grease it - epoxy it / liquid metal it - leave it a couple of days to set - bobs yer uncle.

Or - I have a propane torch and solder Smile

Araldite - worked on my pickup for a while.

it was in a shitty place and my repair quality wasn't that good so it gave up after about a month

I did the repair in situ which didn't help - but if you can get good access to the leak then it might hold for a bit. Will need warming too to help curing

Ive done quite a bit of reasearch about radweld and its not good news, sometimes it works and throws the pump, sometimes it works and throws the head gasket and sometimes it does just works.

Id rather not take the risk.

Remember that both of those can also be caused by running the bike dry of coolant. Which can be caused by it pissing out of a radiator hole. If anything radweld should reinforce the head gasket.

Well the reasearch done seems as a short term measure it can be OK, but over time it can least to blockages and thus i guess resulting in overheating the head gasket and causing it to warp.
Also in a car, if someone has used it before many years ago and you use it again, its BAD.
