|

I have to say I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to go offroad biking, borrow someone elses kit and bike, get to try out loads of different sized bikes and learn to slide properly!!
I'll add some of the photos from my dirty weekend I'm still aching!!
Ady Smith teaches you loads of basic skills at first, then it gets harder with learning to spin the bike and slide it correctly. We went for rides around the land testing loads of different scenarios, going through mud, ruts, over logs and at the end of the weekend got to try some jumps too.
You will fall off a million times! We all did, but everyone was in high spirits for the whole weekend, and the mud and puddles were so deep!!!
Usually it's in Wales, but we managed to book it for 10 people to do it in Eastbourne.

The perfect size bike, the only one I could get both feet down on the ground with!

My actual bike for most of the weekend, although I also tried out the 125 two-stroke and the 300 two-stroke

Me after many swimming lessons in the muddiest bits! I look dry but I really wasn't!

So, when you getting your own off roader?
How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking and do they cater for riders of different abilities?
Wouldn't mind doing some decent off road training at some time, but a lot seem to mostly be aimed at newer riders and while I'm far, far from being a dirty-god, I've got some confidence at least.
Oh and the position on your bike isn't far off how I have to sit on my CCM when it's on the side stand too ... interesting when you're trying to get on it while sliding down a slope . |

I stalled going over a log and found I had no feet! It's amazing what you can recover though.
The whole weekend was £260 and to be honest I thought it was quite hard as a beginner but the teaching is good, and personally I couldn't do the spins because of my short legs so he taught me to get off the bike and spin it By the end of the weekend you get to ride around loads of tracks and that's when Ady and his staff show just how fast they go while you go around, no-one could keep up with them. I'd say they could definitely work well with more advanced offroaders, I think they'd like the challenge! ____________________ Alli x

I think everyone snapped at least one brake lever by the end of the weekend. The trick at the start of the day was to pick the bike with the most full levers of course, I was so ickle I got to keep my bike most of the weekend, and therefore only broke the clutch lever about half an hour before we packed up... and I did it in a puddle?! Not sure how it snapped on mud but it did! I had a moment where something hit me in the neck when I lost the bike in a slide, whatever it was that poked my neck I was just grateful it bent and didn't impale me!! ____________________ Alli x

don't I get that offer too?? I just quit my job this morning so I need to have some fun!! |
But you've already got to play with all those shiny toys!
Incidentally, I won't actually be doing much any off roading for a period of time*. So, same as I've offered to others, if you wanna take the CCM out sometime, feel free. Need to poke the front end after a road-crash a while ago, but it still rides ok (probably should have had it looser, as above ). And yes, if I do sort the Hussy out, you're welcome to play too!
*Hopefully I'll find out I can sometime soon, but it could easily be 6 months . |
I'll be round in half an hour oh wait I've got an interview, might need to change first out of the stupid office gear ____________________ Alli x

I'm in the vid getting interviewed a few minutes in!! I didn't know I sounded so cockney, hahahaha. These guys were filming us on day one when we were shit! All the best stuff was on day 2, it was muddier and we actually had a better idea of what we were supposed to be doing with the bikes! ____________________ Alli x
