Um, have you got a little compartment thing, like a glove box underneath your clocks on your scooter, could you modify that, and slot it in there?

You can just buy a mounting kit which should come with quite a few attachments. One of the fixings should fit somewhere.

lol, i do have a glove box but theres literally no room in there for anything not even gloves, i might as well just stick it in my jacket or under the seat and use headphones, tomtom should have so thought about scooter riders. i have the mounting kit but the clamp thing wont clap anyware on me bike

You have mirrors don't you? There is a mount which mounts to the mirror fixing.

What he said. My TomTom came with four different fixings, including one that could be fixed on the mirrors. Just haven't got round to doing it yet, as I usually find my way...

My Pan doesn't have bare handlebars either.

The Rider 2 comes wit a RAM mount with a variety of mounting options. I mounted mine on the brake lever/reservoir clamp.

If you look in Touring and Exploration at the TomTom Rider thread you'll see piccies of various bikes with Tomtoms.

I second the RAM mount, I managed to squeeze it onto my RS125 between the left grip and the steering yoke you can see here on the bottom right of the pic...

have a look at Ram mounts.

they are who make the standard tomtom rider mounting.

they have loads of alternative fixings.
but they are kind of pricey.

... Define "scooter" ...

I could totally understand a GPS on a Silverwing, but not a glorified moped with a <100cc engine.

Why not? I've found the TomTom very handy even on my scooter when I've gone to a strange part of the town to visit somebody or a shop.

How complicated are the cities over the pond? Around here, it's all a matter of wandering around until you find a road you recognize. You're never lost, just ridin' around. It's how you learn the terrain and keep your bearings if you get lost.

environmentally friendly and all that!! Better to use tomtom and get there in 1 trip rather and searching for it.

(That's so bullshit but true hahahaha)

Most towns and cities here have grown over several hundreds of years (my village is over a thousand years old) so meander all over the place rather than being neat grids of streets.

And don't forget the one-way streets. Brick Wall You end up going miles out of your way just because you can't turn right...

Also, we don't believe in having road names sign posted; watching confused tourists trying to figure out where they are can provide hours of fun. Especially if they're American and trying to get to Lie-ces-ter Square. Laughing

Yeah, I think I'll be taking a GPS if I ever go over the pond. But you won't see me on a scooter.

And this really backs up that a GoldWing should have a GPS as opposed to a scoot.

What the fuck has what bike you have dictate whether you should have a GPS or not?

For once I agree with Paivi ( Shocked )
