Seems to be a bit of petrol leakage at the bottom of the carb when the bike is off and fuel switch is off. It doesnt go on the floor but there is some at the bottom of the carb ? Is that normal ?
Thank you

its a late 2007 only about 3 miles on the clock and one of those was me

It will be very well looked after. I have polished it with poorboys polish sealed it with Klasse Sealant glaze and then waxed it with p100 wax. I have taken al the plastics off and done the same detail to the frame

looks alright Thumbs Up , been pondering getting one myself and been wondering if you can get custom ones made anywhere ?

also get yourself a bar pad thing, i put a blue/white yamaha one on mine and grey/blue renthal handbar grips ,and it made the bike look loads better and added my own touch !

Today I drained the bike shop 2 stroke oil and filled her with shell synthetic ultra 2 stroke oil. I also filled her with Shell V power petrol

Then I put on some renthal high bars but Ive got to change them as there to high. So tomorrow I will put mediums on. Also I want black ones not gold

nice bike mate, i got the same model dt125re but in blue, i got graphics exacly the same postitions as yours. when i got mine (second hand) i thought the guy had replaced the indicators and wheels, but your new bike has just confirmed that the indicators come 'clear' and the wheels are chrome, nice 1! enjoy

https://w3.bikepics.com/pics/2007/11/12/bikepics-1085866-800.jpg

theres mine Very Happy

2nd owner. Bought for £950 as a cat C write-off @ 4k miles!

Since buying it ive put 12k miles on it and have fitted

Big One full system
-1 tooth front sprocket (JT sprockets, DID heavy duty chain) x3 sets in 12k miles
EBC brake pads
EBC heavy duty rear disc
Renthal style bars + brace pad
Renthal grips
Racetech handguards (Best you can buy for £20 imo)
Acerbis DHH (ufo style) twinspot headlights
Acerbis YZ front mudguard (You try find a decent BLACK front mudguard!)
Heavy Duty clutch cable
New footpegs
YZ125 alloy gear lever
Custom made Aluminum bashguard
Custom made Aluminum tail tidy (8x6 plate)
Carbon effect, clear lens, arrow micro indicators

get a derestricted front pipe (pref a full system or mod the stock pipe) then do the wire trick and you'll be looking at around 20ish bhp over stock 13ish bhp Very Happy

Wow ! you have done loads and the bike looks great.

Whats the wire trick ?

I will get round to doing the exhaust very soon , whats the best part to do first ? the front or the back ?

Also what are the ebc pads like ?

Changed my Handlebars today , went for the medium rise Renthals

quote from dtr125.net (best site for DT's)

"Going into the speedo is a four pin connecting block. There are 4 wires going into the block and only 3 wires coming out the speedo side. Just find the Green/Black wire going into the block, clip it to separate it from the block, and strip the end and join a small piece of wire to it (long enough to to join to an earth on the frame). When the Green/Black wire is earthed to the frame this stops the YPVS from retarding over 7000 RPM. The engine should rev freely now"

basically when the green wire is earthed it stops the YPVS from closing when your halfway through the powerband. It doesnt add anything to topend but acceleration is way better as you now get full use of the powerband Very Happy

Ive not done the inlet manifold mod on that site though. I hear it messes with the fuel/airflow too much. if i had a spair to try it with id give it a g. My mate has done the mod but he hasnt got the bike back together yet to see what it does...

Then either get the stock front pipe cut, de-restricted then rewelded (no idea on a price.. £30?? id be happy to pay that!) until u can afford a dep/arrow system. Dont bother buying a derestricted front pipe for a stock end can or a dep/arrow end can for the stock de-restricted front pipe cos you'll prob have issues getting them to fit (like ive had!) I wouldnt buy a bigone again either because they are crap quality (i got a nearly new full system new for £80 and couldnt resist).

also word of advice. Look after the stock exhaust. any rust and treat it quickstyle else it will literally eat itself within a year or too. The endcan is the worst for it!!.. Also if you get the front pipe de-restricted and run with the stock system till you can get a dep/arrow you will then be able to sell off the stock system (seperate would get u more money. i reckon at bout £50.. so your dep/arrow system just cost u £160 Thumbs Up ).. And just for a laugh.. next time your at the dealership buying parts (trust me you will when you need a throttle tube or a bloody front spocket tab washer that they half the time dont have in stock!!) enquire on the price of a new full system. I think its up at the £400 mark!!!

As for the EBC pads. I dont know the difference over the factory fitted because I ripped em out and bought new pads before I rode it Thumbs Up Im only using the organic pads. You can get racing pads but from what I hear they wear out loads quicker. An organic set last me around 5k. DID heavy duty chains normally last about that too. Ive not tried O-ring chains yet since DID chains are like £15 and are easier to fit/remove to clean. I think the service manual (which I have if u want it) even recommends DID heavy duty chains Thumbs Up

You can also convert the 428 chain to 520. basically a bigger/stronger chain like you'd find on a 250 Thumbs Up

another thing.. as for high octane fuel... i dont bother. Ive tried when my bike was restricted then derestricted and noticed no differece. I know another guy with an older DT (battered old thing haha) and it will only run ok on high octane fuel Confused And while on the topic of fuel.... Get used to using the trip meter like a fuel gauge too.... after a while you'll know silly things like £3 of fuel will get me 35 miles, a full tank inc reserve will do around 140 miles or at about 100ish miles you need to flip to reserve etc Mr. Green its very handy. I know that if i put £5 in my tank from empty and that ive done 45 miles since then i know that i got roughly 15 miles in the tank before i run out of fuel Thumbs Up

yeh u need to take the front light off. just loock for the connector that has wires going into the speedo. there will be 4 wires on one side of the block but only 3 wires going into the speedo. u need to earth that wire that isnt going anywhere Thumbs Up

the dep pipes sound more like motocross pipe.. a DT will never sound like a YZ but it does sound better than a stock pipe which has no sound to it what so ever!. I have a Bigone with the baffles removed. Sounds louder than the dep (which you need to drill rivets to remove the baffle packing) but a mate reckons it sounds shite and like a scooter Shocked I think it sounds ok when you thrash it...

This leak really should have been picked up on the pre delivery inspection

Ive also put a Renthal brace on the handle bars and black motrax grips

In regards to my small petrol leak I decided to cal Yamaha assist who then sent out a RAC patrol

The RAC man was here for over a hour and a half

He stripped my bike and took the carb apart and found out that a seal had been pinched on assembly. It needs to go to the dealer for a new seal but he fixed it for the time being with a tube type instant gasket

The damaged seal top left corner was pinched ...............

Not really that big of a deal.

I found that my YBR (back in 2005) had some of the bolts put on to tight (especially on the seat) -

To the point where you would need to drill em out! lol!
