Some of you may or may not remember seeing some pictures that I posted up at the end of last with reference to my off on my Girlfriends bike.

Here is what we did/had done to get it back from broken mess to beautiful blue glory.

What she looked like before the off.....

And here is all the pictures from after the spill....

OK, so thats what she looked like before and after the crash. It wasnt pretty, but then, it wasnt that bad either. Mainly just some cosmetic damage... But then it can be expensive to have fixed as you all know.

The first thing we did was set about removing all the fairing as my girlfriend had decided that she wanted it all 1 colour after my mr meaner.

https://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e232/MrPies/22012008007.jpg
https://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e232/MrPies/Naked.jpg
https://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e232/MrPies/naked1.jpg

She was all naked and looked a lot smaller then I expected. I needed some fairing, as the old panel was repaired once before and it was too far gone to fix agian IMO. So I looked everywhere, eGay, breakers and I even thought about buying new.... But thought better of it after I saw the price.

I managed to find this on eGay and thought that these would do nicely.

From the above all that is being used was the 2 side panels, but the tail will find itself on my own bike in the future I should think.... Either was this was a Billy Bargain at only 150£ delivered.

Whist a friend of ours was getting this all sprayed in a beautiful blue for my partner we needed to find a rear brake hanger and also a new indicator as this was smashed too.

My partner also went a bit mad for colour coded screws. Now I dont think these look brilliant, but its her bike and I did screw it up so it was her call.

Here is the rear hanger off the bike and the new one fitted. we got this for only £50 from Cambridge Motorcycles brand new from Kwak so not bad.

The panels came back from spraying and looked brilliant so we wasted no time in getting them back on the bike and putting everything else on too, so that she is now all ready for the British summer and her MOT.

The only thing that now lets her down is the exhaust but this is being dealt with and a new one will be on soon enough.

https://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e232/MrPies/finished.jpg

What do you think? We are really pleased with the end result and the finish on the body is like silk and soft to the touch.

Cheers

When you mentioned all one colour, and the green panels...it gets painted blue. The wheels would have looked a little strange I suppose. Grand job so far, but yes some subtle stickers would finish it off nicely.

Another beautiful restoration of a ZX6R. Ninja decals on the tank and nothing else will set it off. How much was the total damage?

Thanks for the offer, but she wants shinny.... or thats what she tells me anyway.

We are discussing decals at the minute also.

Thanks again.
