Friend rang me up yesterday saying he can't change gear. Gear return spring had snapped.

Except a Yamaha unless you don't like second gear.

Hi

A friend does gearbox rebuilds on Guzzis. Says that when properly shimmed up the gearchange is fairly good, but the factory tend to just lob them together without any real attempt at setting them up correctly.

All the best

Keith

Not bad for a 1960s design then.

All the best

Yup, working at a guzzi dealer we had a lot of recalls for "stiff gear changes"
as said above, once shimmed up there smooth as a proverbial.
