Having a poke around I saw these two things

the top one is £10 , the bottom one cheapest I can find is £85, makes me wonder how effective the top set of pliers is , I assume the nose of the pliers fits inside the piston hollow and grips the inside so you pull it out , while the bottom set do something similar but without as much effort?

Any thoughts on this? , I have a small feeling a few people will say NO don't buy the top one , (seeing as I pop brake pistons with the brake lever anyway).

Hi

Suspect the top one would be fine for pistons that are fairly free.

Popping the pistons out using the lever is easy on a sliding caliper, but on an opposed piston caliper it can be a pain.

All the best

Got one, it works.

Doesn't fit your rear caliper on either of your bikes but then neither does the top one. I'm thinking about having more bits (can't remember the correct word) made up for mine for big pistons.

Cheaper here.

I bought one and it really does work , I stripped separated the calipers and rebuilt them and bled the brakes in less than 2 hours, on my NTV with its twin piston brake it takes 2 hours to do the job with the lever pushing out the pistons alone!.

good thing I did it too as my pads were wearing unevenly and the pistons were > < from seizing as they were covered in thick black crud.
