good luck to anyone wanting to try it.

Not trying to put a dampener on it, just trying to be realistic.

i know but your describing costs of someone doing a full season which is putting people off.

you dont need 30K to do 2-3 rounds in a year if that is what someone is wanting to do to just give it a go.

i know of someone who is racing an old gsxr600 k1 with part worn tyres and he does 56 second laps round mallory which is impressive considering richard cooper enters the same EMRA rounds and does low 55second laps and he qualified on the front row of BSB.

if your talented enough you will do well. then it is upto the person who is doing it to make up there mind to whether they should put in a full-on effort like you are describing.

There's no reason to start with a SMALL effort then go big.

Not sure, double check with the ACU. I would have thought so given that the ACU and AMCA are different organisations. If you'd had an ACU motocross license then I think there's something in place. Not so sure about going AMCA to ACU.

And 102db at what rpm?

ACU standard is 105dB @ at 4k rpm. ( or a mean piston speed of 11m/s.)

I. Dont think you will do, going from mx to road you would even if you were at national level. This yeara bemsee rookie champ was ex national mx rider already sponsored with tyres and made everyone look silly and BRoke numerous lap records.

yep, its funny to see european level supermotard riders start road riding and they have to wear novice bibs. You feel its somewhat unfair considering half there riding is on tarmac.

Slightly off topic but It's still valid enough to ask here.

I've had my ACU licence with BMCRC for a few years but I didnt renew last year. I have since joined an ACU MX club whom I can renew my licence with. If I do, can I reapply for my road race licence as well as the motoX/enduro section. Or will I have to go through BMCRC to get those back?

Thanks in advance,

Damon

You'll need to go through Bemsee. Similar situation to the above it sounds like.

Yea, you have to get a club for each category you want.
Can get quite expensive if you're just doing it speculatively for a few clubs - ie mx, enduro, trials and road. I just used day licences last year - was probably about £30 down on just applying; remember lots of off-road stuff uses AMCA etc, with different licences Sad.

I just wondered what sort of sums people are raising from sponsorship? I know it really depends on who you know, how proactive you are, how convincing you are etc but there must be a ball-park figure.

For most people; somewhere around £0 to a little bit.
It's mostly 'who you know'.
Get a lot of discounted good and services, but money's always been a big ask and these days even more so.
