Hi

Nothing obvious sounding, but check the idle mixture screw positions and also the needle positions.

All the best

I finally fitted my tyres last weekend. It will be the first and last time.

The rim protectors were useless and when removing the tyres, unfortunately, this happened:

https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/DSC01122.jpg

We live and learn.

Fitting them was pretty easy though.

On a more positive note, the handling has been completely transformed. Now it actually wants to go around corners. I've clocked up 80 miles so far on them Very Happy

OUCH! that happen on both wheels or just the one? a bit of fine paper and some paint and it wont look half as bad. Will the mag wheels from the later 90 onwards 125 fit? i can try and get the wheel sizes for you if you need them Smile

Both Rolling Eyes

Definitely worth paying for it to be done at a garage. Luckily, the rims weren't in amazing condition anyway so it's not the biggest loss ever.

Eventually I'll get the front tidied up and powder coated. I already have a spare rear that I picked up off eBay for £6.50 so that's not an issue.

Not really interested in the later wheels.

Hi kick how is it going? I found the problem!! Can you believe that the 1 carburators idling screw is missing!! So it was getting to much air through the whole. Going to order a screw from yamaha and see what happens.

Thing is it is going to be a biatch to get the carburators working together again!!!

My brand new single seat cowl arrived this morning. Won on eBay for £52 Very Happy

Clicky

Yes I know, it's the wrong colour. I spoke to the guy that makes them and he said that he could make one in blue but it wouldn't be Faraway Blue so I opted for the white one.

If you look very closely at the gel coat you can see little bits of dust. Overall though it's an excellent product.

Now I just need to ring up Bike Colours to sort out some paint Razz

No way Laughing

The cowl doesn't fit properly so today I'm seeing if it fits on 3 different seats as I have a feeling mine may be swollen causing the gap around the back to be quite large.

Hi

They are nicer (although not as useful), but think you are meant to have a few extra bushes for mounting them (they should fit anyway, just not quite as well).

All the best

Repaired the hole in my tank again, and upon removing the old Araldite and rusty crud there's a new hole next to the old one Shocked The little bridge in between the holes is quite thin so I don't think it will be long until that rots through too.

This time I've used Plastic Padding Chemical Metal which actually claims to be petrol proof unlike Araldite which only claims to be oil proof.

https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/DSCF1241.jpg

First off I removed the old repair:

https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/DSCF1231.jpg

Then I cleaned the area up with my dremel, an allen key, some cotton buds and some brake cleaner. Then dried it out with a hair drier.

Opened up my chemical metal, but they must have shoved a lot of hardener into the little tube as when I broke the seal it came squirting out at quite a speed. No worries though, I just mixed a bit more of the chemical metal in with it so I had loads to play with.

I shoved loads into the holes (in the hope to cover the little bridge up from the inside so it doesn't rot) and then smoothed it over.

Applying some heat to help it set:

https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/DSCF1233.jpg

The finished result:

https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/DSCF1236.jpg

I had quite a bit of the chemical metal left so quickly pulled one of my rear panels off and put some around the home made lugs to hopefully strengthen them up a little.

I'll test it later for leakiness. Here's hoping there isn't any.
