I'm a tard... didn't realise typing it into google got the stuff. Regardless, for future reference, the RD350 LC has the same ignition bypass as a YPVS.

It's been stored in an earth floored shed for the past year or so, so it's looking a little worse for wear Sad

Now at the new house in a real shed with workbench and stuff, so should be making a bit of progress soon.

plumb all peripheral electrics (lights, switchgear, KILL SWITCH!!!)
get brake lines that fit
fork seals
and then put the fairings on. then it's pretty much done.

pics incoming

My experiances years ago with the rd350ypvs is, if you disconnect the ignition switch on a standard bike it will still start but the powervalves wont work.

Should be fun once its on the road. Smile

It's true. That's how it's running at the moment. Same on an RXS100 and the like.

Anyway, obviously I'd prefer a proper switch and a working powervalve. hence the need for switches.

Cheers, but i'll pass. Got enough random parts already Laughing

If you've got a headlight loom for the mito, then i'll happily take that off your hands for a few ££

same applies to anyone who has one.

Road test:

Got it road legit-ish...

Took it for 1 ride... All good.

Took it for a 2nd ride... My friend tries to overtake in his car, so I refuse to let him.
Back wheel locks up, fishtail, clutch in, grind to a halt...

Fuck...

Fragile engines when newly rebuilt Wink

Anyway, after 5 minutes of being seized solid and being gutted, it got a crack and freed off. Rode it around for a bit, seemed fine.

Did some nearby twisty roads on it with a few friends, and the front brake seized on. Bit of a relief because I thought the engine was seizing again when I saw smoke billowing from my front pads. Fuck knows why this happened. I'm not sure if an anti chatter plate would have helped.

Next issue was when it got low on fuel... For some reason when it gets low on fuel, It decides to idle at 5000rpm. Put more fuel in? settles down just fine. weird. I put it down to the wanky angle of the back end doing something to the fuel tap inlets.

Also used £11 of fuel in about 25 miles Laughing

Took it on the plymouth megaride, then came home again after loads of old people looking at it with confused faces, and a few people off here recognising it.

Head off, check the bores... Nothing wrong with them. I got away with it.

Brool

and some pics to break up the text.

How it's riding at the moment. Fairings to put on and a bit of paint here and there on flakey radiators, but that's just about it.

And how it looked after 1 year of storage in a damp shed.

it's great on sharp corners, but yes, very twitchy on longer sweeping ones. I think a damper is in order.

Also using all the front tyre, with about an inch of rear tyre left unused.

Can't you just change the length of the dog bones, it will look better and save you buying a damper, and probably sort the handling out.

This.

Lower the rear, it'll cure it.

There's no linkage on the Mito, Its a direct connection between the frame and the swinging arm.

A rising rate linkage would almost certainly help.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Yeah. I'm going to raise the forks about 15mm and lower the shock. No wishbones on a mito, just a pivot

EDIT: wtf? wishbones?
