|

Hi all,
Just done my CBT a couple of days ago, looking for a 125, im not that big or tall so chosen cbr125. I'm Scotland, so not that many examples of 125's.
Just need one for a few months to practise on/have some fun, before I sit the A2.
I don't want a rs125/nsr125, as prefer the sound of a 4 stroke, and should be less maintenance on a 4 stroke.
Found a couple of examples:
https://glasgow.gumtree.com/glasgow/74/28781574.html
https://glasgow.gumtree.com/glasgow/21/29428921.html
Any thoughts on the above 2?
thanks |

Predictable reply here, but don't bother. If it's just for a few months, get a £500-£700 CG125.
You will sell it for the same price, and it you happen to spill during winter you don't have to fork out a fortune in plastics.
Seriously, 2 grand on a 125 is wasteful, in my opinion. Put it towards your test/lessons instead.
I only got a CBR125 when I was on L's cause it was stolen/recovered and only £400. Otherwise I would defo had got a CG. ____________________ CBR125|||GSXR400|||CBR400|||CBR400|||CB250RS|||GSXR750|||CB250RS

prefer this one and after reading the other ad would have reservations as to the sellers character. ____________________ (L)users...Disk space is to good for them.

I was a bit concerend about the first one myself, didnt like the DIY rim painting or the driving ban/riding round back streets!
The second one looks better, i should be able to get the seller down to about £1600ish.
Selling in a few months, mabye feb/march, so i hope I shouldnt lose too much money.
Any more opinions would be greatly appreciated.
I dont really like the cg125 tbh, I know its a similar bike, but cant see myself 'wanting' to ride it if im honest. |

The CBR125R first appeared on the market in 2004 and remained unchanged until the release of the fuel injected RW-7 model in 2007. It is manufactured in Thailand alongside the CBR150R, the latter for the Far East market.

CBR's are great but that might be because i just got one they are quite easy to ride and don't have many downsides. The only negative thing i have to say about it is that the first gear is very short which means you have to change more often other than that its fine. Mine is an 06 which i got for £1250 it was on a kind of offer ____________________ Bikes : 2006 CBR125R - 2004 Monster 620ie - 2004 ZX-6R B1H - 2005 Monster S2R 800 - 2011 Street Triple - 2009 Streetfighter 1098 - 2014 ZX-6R 636

thanks for replies, Any known issues or problems with the ybr? I guess it still has nearly a year of the warranty left if there are any problems.
Whats the top speed etc? Would it be much slower than the cbr?
cheers |

Spending about a thousand on a decent bike that should lose much if any when I come to sell it doesnt sound that bad tbh? What do you think? |
