Yeah a nice GP100 Cafe racer FTW! PB did a GP100 project about 20years ago, and i think the aim was to build one into a 100mph bike?

Thanks chaps, maybe a cafe racer.. Gone have a nose round the scrapys see what i can find. Drop bars!..

would like a micron on the GP too.. Decent sports exhaust. In the book they say 15 horses.. i rekon with a decent carb say off a Vespa or DT125 then i would expect to see close on 20HP.. whooohooo...any one know of any GP125 tuning sites?

I measured the piston and its 57.85mm The bore is 57.99 i take that is not 100cc more like a big fat 125cc with a rebore of 2mm.
HOW cool!

The rings are new as well, never been fitted. Gona strip the carb to see what it is jetted with. Wonder if its been under jetted. Smile

Got one of the new crank bearings in today!.. Got the other side to do still.. need my compressor and impact driver to get the clutch shaft nut undone..Its on well!

Today got the frame stripped ready for the renovation. Not looking too bad for a 1982 bike. Very solid indeed.

measure the bore AND the stroke and use this calculator to get your cc Thumbs Up

ie. 54mm bore, 54mm stroke = 123cc

https://www.scooterhelp.com/tuning/defs.ccs.html#cc_calc

i had a gp100 with a 125 motor...... lethal 2 up lol

now you have got me Confused

i normally go by the carb size and multiply it by 5 then take off a bit.

ie... 24mm carb x 5 = 120 main jet but go for 110 and check the plug.

above was just an example, you need to do the maths Thumbs Up

Setting the timming. It was waaaaayyyy out. It was set to fire at about 35Deg BTDC. The correct timming is 20Deg or 1.87mm BTDC. Would run like a dog like this and probally over heat. Wish it was a CDI system, makes it bloody easyier.lol

The markings on the flywheel was a bit vague at best, so i had to make my own TDC mark, and then the mark for 20Deg. Reset the stator plate by taking off the flywheel. Took a few attempts but got there in the end.

A multimeter on the points wire was used to let me know when they were about to open and go open circuit. This was the point of Ignition.

My homemade way of getting the TDC and 1.87mm BTDC

https://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c357/satelliteone/Suzuki%20GP100/IMGP1706.jpg

then mark the case

https://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c357/satelliteone/Suzuki%20GP100/timming1.jpg

then slowly move the flywheel clockwise to get nearest dam it to 1.87mm as the piston falls down the cylinder.

https://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c357/satelliteone/Suzuki%20GP100/IMGP1707.jpg

I then reset the points gap to 15 thou. rechecked the timming and it was spot on. Yipppeee Smile

A mile stone today. Got the engine in. Had some issues with no spark, the wiring had to be sorted up front, and then i got a nice blue strong spark.

Wheels on, but still have to get some new parts, Rear sprocket and chain, a few bulbs and thats it.

New on my list is the tank to respray along with the side panels/front mudguard plus the carb need cleaning.. The seat needs recovering too.

Here are the pix from today.

Looks like he just painted the spokes silver. Good idea really. I started grinding mine and was going to polish them but I got lazy and now they've gone rust again. I'm tempted to go and buy some silver paint now though.

Thanks chaps, not far off the MOT is it.

Gashead, good old wire brush for the hub, used a drill too.. sand paper for the spokes, and very good alloy looking brush paint. Patience and a steady hand... took me two hours for both wheels. Very Happy

All i need now is a couple of liters of 2K red paint.

plymouth??
you need to be the third wheel in the great 100cc race we've been planning...

RXS100
H100
(potentially) GP100

you know you want to...
both these bikes cost £70 each, so we're looking at who can make the best shitters haha

so far im winning by fucking loads because it cost me about £50 from start to finish to get it through an MOT on the RXS

the H100 however... total cost SO FAR is over £1000 Confused

Cool i love races..matt

a grand! on a the H100? what did he buy for it. gold plated..lol

SO far for me

already had the wheels bearings and new engine parts/fork seals with the bike. The rear tyre is like new, front should pass..

50 quid for the bike
20 quid for the crank
30 Chain n Sproket
03 New Clutch cable(ebay) bargain!
11 New Rev counter cable (local bike shop)
10 Rev counter(bike breakers)
05 for bulbs

so far thats

£129

Still to buy is the paint/2stoke oil/petrol and MOT. and i rekon its gona cost sub 200 quid-ish.

not bad for a bike that under gone a rebuild.

No idea on the market value on resale, guestimate any one?
