If you have a a full licence its well worth going for your Roadcraft. Did mine last week and its worth every penny. My local training scheme have some agreement with the local council where they pay for some of it for you. It only cost me £20 on my own bike for 3 hours 1 to 1 riding. Whether your a new rider or long time biker it will teach you somthing new. Nothing like your DAS. Works on making you an advanced rider. Next step my ERS.

I did think about doing some of these after passing my test. They claim to make to a safer rider, and would probably be good at getting rid of any bad habits. They can also reduce your insurance a bit. But when I'm paying £90 a year for insurance, I'm not to fussed any more. Maybe in a couple of years I'll consider one as a refresher.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

this doesn't bring your insurance down. But even for hardened veterans its well worth while. This has taught me how to take the corners harder and faster. But safer at the same time. Really is worth a go for £20. Has made riding even more enjoyable for me.

I did a roadcraft I hada low speed drop that stole my confidence.

Thumbs Up

I paid full price because Leicester City Council only kicked in if you'd bought a sportsbike Sick

However it was an excellent 3 hours, included how to ride safely quickly. By the end I had not only regained lost confidence but walked away with more than I'd ever had on a bike.

Any one got a website for it? Google brings back adverts for the books, and a pile of driving schools called "roadcraft" Smile

Not if your experience is building on bad habits and an accident waiting to happen.

I did a bit of rooting about and found out that locally Gloucestershire County Council have a Roadcraft webpage. However, the course they list is essentially BikeSafe and the "advanced" assessment is the IAM assessment day using a Police biker on his day off.

I also found out that Avon & Somerset do, or a least did, a residential Ride to Arrive course, but looks like they've not run it for a while in favour of BikeSafe.

So I say browse your county coucil and 'shire police force webpages. Thumbs Up

I found out about the Leicester scheme by asking my local bike school. Could be worth a shot.
