(From a magazine I bought today with my translation)
There is not an export version for new ZRX1200 DAEG. Namely, this is a japanese standard naked developped only for japanese riders. We'll write test ride impression soon. We'll introduce this bike now.
Front brakes are new 4 pot caliper(Ex was 6 pot). 310mm(rear:250mm) petal disc rotars look good. Wheels for ZZR1400 also look good. Front and Rear suspensions were totally refined with their settings. Rear shocks applied 2 stage spring, and manage both initial softness and toughness at high load. Attach point at the bottom moved 20mm backward and by being laid down, enabled good move. Swing arm with "D" shape is a newly developped part, chain adjustar is excentric type as ex model. Down sized chain(530->525) contribute to low noize and lightness. Petrol was changed from regular to premium in order to acquire enriched power feel at practical use range. The bike we photographed this time is a preceeding production model, some small changes like smoothening exhaust joint part, changing meter materials etc will be applied for production model from 02/09.

Celebrating eddie lawson winning AMA superbike in 1981, KZ1000R1 : lawson replica was sold next year. Bikini cowl surrounding four-sided head light, edge shaped petrol tank and tail cowl...
Motifing KZ1000R1, 400cc ZRX appeared in 1994. In 12/1996 ZRX1100 has debuted with remade GPZ1100 engine. In 2001, it souped up to 1200. The well-received styling wasn't changed for 12 years.
Severe unti noise/exhaust regulations has scale-downed japanese domestic market, but kawasaki decided to make ZRX1200 a domestic only model!
Luckily ZZR1400/Z1000/Z750 are in good sales in europe. On the other hand, presence of ZRX hardly makes itself felt which isn't full-cowled tourer nor extreme naked : street fighter.
Then let's realize best performance for japanese roads and styling japanese riders like. The vector of development has be settled.
Max power has become 110PS adding 15PS with pursueing flexibility. Outer parts are also reformed and appeals strongly. This progress is the DAEG.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/26/Runic_letter_dagaz.svg/14px-Runic_letter_dagaz.svg.png : runic alphabet which means progress.

6 speed Transmission was newly developped basing ZZR1200 unit(Ex model was 5 speed). Radiator was lightened 340g, cooling performance has improved 16%.

Meters have 2 LCD panels which indicate left petrol litre, clock, trip meter. Red zone is from 9500rpm. Immobiliser is standardized.
https://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b295/kawashima_/seat.jpg
Seat has become slim but it has enough thickness in both front and rear.
https://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b295/kawashima_/cowl.jpg
Bikini cowl shape has become sharp and edged one, really looks like GPZ900R ninja.
https://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b295/kawashima_/underseat.jpg
Under seat space is enough for rain wear and small baggage. 2nd helmet holder is a hook welded on the frame.

There are baggage hooks which slides 5cms under the tail cowl.
