Picked this up at the weekend. Needs a top end rebuild so going to strip it completely & restore it over the coming months. Thumbs Up

In general is in fairly good nick certainly came apart ok nothing really seized in. However on closer inspection the side panels need replacing as there are a few cracks in them, the rear indicators I can't get off & the forks look as though they really have passed their best but not bad for 200 quid. Thumbs Up Will update the thread as I go along. Very Happy

You have done well san! 200 notes for a pretty tidy looking bike to begin with. Get the motor sorted out and reliable, and i think there is fun to be had with that! Thumbs Up

Oooh that is gorgeous! I wonder if an RD350 YPVS engine would fit in there... Thinking

What size are the wheels? Are they 17in or 18in?

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Now that is gorgeous, bought and broke one of these last year but it was too far gone to be economically viable to sort out. They use 17" front and rear wheels and would awesome with a rd350 lump. There was one bloke who put a cr500 lump in one on 125ccsb forum. But agreed, it would benefit from a USD rg125f front end and a banana swinger from the rg125f.

I've got this in for breaking next week, motor runs sweet on it and would love to find a cheap wolf to transfer all the bits from it onto.

The 200 is actually less powerful than the 150, was more for torque I think plus I'm not really looking to import from Japan. The bike doesn't really need USDs, having owned one before & a couple of FUNs I can vouch for that but will see what I come up with. Cool The wheels are 17" pretty standard really, although the wolf had a marginally thinner rear wheel compared to the FUN. I have got some plans so watch this space lol! Thanks for the comments so far. Thumbs Up

On a side note I know that a GS500e engine will go straight in as the wolf is basically the same bike but with different engine & panels. Maybe a DR 650 lump would go in as well but I'm intending to keep it a 125. Wink

I wouldn't know where to look for one of those I'm afraid. The reason I asked if you came from that part of the world is if you could get a spare piston, barrel & head for a 150? I have a friend going to NZ in may. Wink

yeah they are getting tricky to find these days, pistons and what not are easy, but not to many are willing to part with the engine, i know of a guy that used 2 barrels on his rgv250 to turn it into a rgv300 Very Happy
you'd probably be better off buying a whole bike and then stripping the engine and any parts off you want and getting them sent back to the uk
there is a cheap bike on trademe (nz version of ebay) that has jammed up, thats about 100 quid

Cheers for that, don't really want a whole bike though. Can't you get the piston, head & barrel over the counter?

Yeah, that's the problem as I have no means to pick it up and thus need something relatively close to home. But there's quite a few on ebay at the moment but all miles away, just have to bide my time and be patient.

I got a car license but no car, lol. looking at getting a car derived van come summer time though Smile .

I'd like to look at a bike before I buy it, one will come soon enough. I had two rg125f's and a wolf over the period of 2007-2008, all were bought from separate independant private sellers and cost me a grand total of £150. All of them were also within a 8mile radius of my house Very Happy.

you can still get the pistons over the counter, but the barrel and top you'd have to get from a wrecked bike, only 1000 ever made it into new zealand, and i dont think a hell of a lot more were made for the thailand market as they were quite expensive at the time,

the best thing as ive said is buy a whole bike, and get someone over here to collect and strip the barrel and piston out for you. and then ship it over, ill be back over in may for a couple of weeks, so i could chuck it in my luggage
