iv owned one from new, had no issues at all, currently at 1300 miles, had its first service at 600 miles (cost near enough £80)
only thing iv done to it is add the fuse, 7.5amp, NOT 15amp like people claime.
the fuse changed the timing, powercurve & powervalve.
the speedo reads 98mph @ redline in sixth gear, so is pretty nippy for a 125, 0 - 60 doesnt take very long at all.
you can buy race exhausts, upjet the carb, get bigbore kits, get bigger carbs, change the timing & sprockets, all adding bhp and changing performance.
theres plenty of parts available on ebay etc..
-------
the downsides...
the side stand is a 'suicide stand' meaning soon as the weight of the bike is off it, it flicks up automatically, that gets anoyying if you just wona move the bike around the garage.
the wing mirrors are as good as... well nothing.. you cant see anything in them at all unless your under 5ft maybe?
anything taller and anything you do see in the mirror will be your arm, handyyy.
riding position aint to bad, my shoulders hurt after a good long ride but are fine after 5 minutes rest.
hope this helps, any questions, just ask ____________________ Gilera SC 125 - Current |

I use a Gilera SC125 at the moment, top bike. Goes nice and quick, corners like a dream and very easy to use on the Module 1.
They aren't the quickest 125 but for their price they are quite good, I picked mine up 2008 plate for £1400 or so with 2200 miles.
[plug]Mine is for sale soon if you wish to buy one! [/plug]
Very thirsty though, I get about 100 miles to a tank if that, and a litre of oil every 2/3 tanks.

My Gilera Sc Has Just over 4000 on the clock, its restricted but still touch's 80mph i will gladley un-restrict it if requested for the sale
looking for £1600 the bikess had a fresh paint job as a matter of choice and is 'panther black' (metalic)
its had brand new indicators as i damaged the old ones when moving the bike around my garage.
bike is in mint condition and all it might need is a new screen (the reason for this is when i took the fairings off to send them to be spray i dropped the screen i then sanded it god knows why but i was going to have it spray aswell )
so £1600 for the bike its in perfect condition 11 months tax 11 months M.O.T and im selling it to get through my car and motorbike test....
The bikes never let me down and i use it everyday to go to college...i also did some longer trips around the uk on it and easily kept up with friends who had bigger bikes.
PM me for details
EDIT:
The bike also comes with rear foot pegs
The bike is a gilera...with a benelli frame , pirelli tires which are still mint condition, all of the fairing is made by derbi along with the clocks and it has a yamaha DT 125 engine
i normally get around 130miles to a tank , this obviously varies on how you ride
and a litre of 2 stroke at around every 4 tanks of fuel |
