Hi there,

I went out at my bike today and found the choke lever was snapped, I suspect it was vandalism. Anyway, I usually use my choke when starting up my bike but now its broken. Does anyone have tips for what I can do until I get it fixed? I don't want this to stop me riding for a few days :S

My bike is a Kawasaki kh 125, so it has a kick start thankfully.

Take the wire out and pull it out with some pliers to turn the choke on then push it in to turn it off? may work, may not. Or is it a lever on the carb?

You can usually reach down to where the carb wire goes in (you could on me NTV650) and pull the wide manually outwards or just stick a screw driver into what remains of the choke assembly on the bars and use that instead.

Choke mechanisms usually have a return spring at the carb end so just disconnect the cable at the carb, tie some wire onto it and run out the side of the bike, pull and hold to warm up and then let go and it should shut off.

I used to put a clothes peg on the wire near the carb until all was good to go and take it off.Put into pocket.
