I'm looking at 250's/400's and was wondering what people's experiences have been with bandit 400's.

What are maintainance and repair costs like (parts etc.)?
How big is the step up from a yamaha RXS100?
How comfortable are they, good for long distances?
Any common issues I need to look out for?

Many thanks

I Just got my Bandit 400 last month and I'm happy with it. I park it next to a bandit 600 at work and you cant tell them apart. You might have to pay alittle bit more if you break something but these bikes sell at really good price's to start with so you wont lose out.
They are high revving bikes, you will still need to use the gears
1st gear wont get you far off the lights
Top speed is 116mph I can get mine to about 100 easily for overtaking but I think it prefers to cruse at 80 /90 on motorways.

I think a 250 would be taking it very easy, you may need that extra power.

Excellent, cheers, that's a really good review Thumbs Up!!!

Yeah, I kind of thought a 250 might be a bit of a small step as some one's that i've seen don't seem to be that much more powerful than my 100 Wink but these were mostly commuters, I know the sportier ones have a bit more.

Those speeds sound good, 'cause I didn't want to get a bike that would struggle at 70, although finding a 400 that struggles at 70 would be worrying; so it's good to know the top speed.

So, would the difference between my 100 and a 400 be vast, are there any things I need to be aware of apart from what's on that site?

Cheers
