Hello

As the title says, anybody got one? I need to replace the shittest bike cover in the world which I bought from ebay.

I bought a "waterproof" cover for £10. Waterproof my arse, soaks in like a bitch.

Thanks in advance

I have a Stormex at the moment. It's covered in snow at the moment so wondering how it has held up under that.

Haven't tried the rainex, so can't comment on that sorry.

We've 3 Aquatex for our bikes. They're better than the Stormex which soaks up the water if the bottom of the cover touches (or is anywhere near apparently Rolling Eyes ) the ground. They don't do bad for raincover though one split in the bad winds a month or two back - not surprising though, given the battering they were getting so I'm no qualms about buying another in replacement. Thumbs Up

I rotate 2 stormex covers, Use a can of silicone waterproofer now n again. No probs.
Those aquatex get weak n brittle after a year. My 6r old stormex is faded and eventually lets moisture in. So while 1 drys i use the other. Cheapest way i could find to cover my bike other than a shed.

RiDE rated the Oxford Rainex =1st with the R&G Superbike cover in their Dec '08 review, the Oxford Stormex (though more expensive) came a disappointing =13th, read the review: here (opens a PDF)

I got an Oxford Rainex off eBay because of the exact reason you're investing in a new one, absolutely shite at keeping water out.

It's a terrific cover mate, couldn't get any better for the money, you can even tell it will keep the water out when you feel the material, it's thick and much higher quality than the cheap £15 one i was using a while ago.

Cost me nearly £50 i think, may seem like a fair bit, but if you can fork out an extra few quid, it will work out in the long run Thumbs Up

I mainly got it because of what LeeR said, RiDE tested, and they give some good advice, saw it in this years November issue.

Those RiDE reviews are worth consulting before buying anything bike related, but ultimately it's down to what you can afford and what you're happy with.

I occasionally buy RiDE if they're reviewing something I'm looking to buy.

As an aside I've only just noticed that RiDE is part of MCN: RiDE website
